Aaron installed this backsplash for Dennis and Cheryl Dill this past week.  She had been saving these tiles for a long time and once she hired us to come in and redesign several of her rooms including her kitchen she asked Aaron to install the backsplash.  Cheryl said that her sister loved the look as much as she did!  Aaron did a great job!

Cheryl had been collecting lots of accessories for quite a while. With a full time job and two small children it had become impossible for her to find the time to decorate her home the way she wanted to.  She had visited Anna, my daugher-in-law and saw what her home was transformed into and asked HOW, WHO, and WHEN?!  So that is how she found me!!!  The rest is history.

Take a look at the before and after pics that I took.  Phil and Aaron helped me get a huge piece of furniture from the foyer to her kitchen and we then reattached it to the wall for her.  Also, Phil worked with me all day on Monday to get the furniture in it's right place and Cheryl also needed Phil to hang several pieces of iron on her patio.  The job ended up taking two full days and with those two days of work Cheryl received a redesigned dining room, living room, den, kitchen and eating area, patio and some tweaking in the master bath.    We have a phase two coming once she picks furniture out for her foyer and her son's room.  Can't wait!!!!

This is Aaron and Phil attaching a huge antique cabinet to the kitchen wall.  Look below and see what a difference it made being placed in the kitchen area.  The mirror on the cabinet did the trick!!!!

I can help you!!!!!!!  My son, Seth and his wife, Anna and son, Ryder moved mid May and the O'Nan clan got them all set up in their new home.  Once we got the furniture and boxes in the house I had the guys help with the placement of the furniture and then I got to town with the rest!  First on the list was getting the kitchen set up.  Boxes, boxes and more boxes were emptied and cabinets were filled.  I had to show Seth and Anna where eveything was once they got home, but organized it was!  Once the kitchen was set up then more boxes were emptied with lamps, pillows and accessories.  The fun began!  While I was working on the inside Phil and Aaron built a privacy fence for the backyard.  It is amazing how a house transforms into a home once the details are finished.  Anna and Seth had bought new drapes for the den and master bedroom and blinds for Ryder's and the guest room.  Phil helped me get those up and we used some drapes that she had for the office.  BUT, the great thing is that they had everything else to work with from their previous home!  They have had friends come in and want to know where they got all of the accessories and they just say "We had all of this!"  To the guest it looks all brand new because it is placed differently in new rooms.  That is what is so magical about the process of redesign.

I know that you probably think that since it is my son and his family that I may have done something different, but no.....I live and breathe my work while I am in someone's home...I think only of that family at the time and am putting my energy and love into making it as beautiful and homey as I can.  I do have to say though that while I was in Seth and Anna's home I was mainly thinking of my grandson, Ryder!!!  He is almost 4 months old and he is precious!!!!!!  I love being a grandmother!!!!  The happiness I was feeling while I was there was his existence in this world!  Anyone out there that is a grandparent knows what I am talking about!!!!

Take a look at some of the pics...they have a beautiful home to raise a family and to share with friends and family.  We are already talking about where to place the Christmas tree this year!  AND, what fun it is going to be to have Ryder here with us to celebrate the best Christmas ever!!!!

Three weeks ago we traveled to Mayfield, Ky. to remodel a kitchen.  The owner wanted a new look for her kitchen, but not spend a ton of money.  Her cabinets needed a facelift which we were able to accomplish by removing the doors and fixtures.  The doors and cabinet boxes were cleaned and polyed.    The fixtures were spray painted.  We didn't even have to sand the cabinets...they looked great once we got them put back together. It was a time consuming process, but we were all happy with the end results. The walls were prepared by removing the wallpaper, primed and painted.  The bulk of the owner's money was spent on a new tile floor.  Aaron laid the tile and I helped him with the grout!  The owner also asked us to install crown molding in both the kitchen and dining room and also baseboards in both rooms.  That was the finishing touch for the rooms! We were able to accomplish this task in just three days.  I have to say though that we worked from 7AM to 8PM the first two days and then until 4PM the last day.  Take a look at the before and after results!!

I know that it is kinda of fun to see before and after pictures for most people, but I want you to see what the men in my life are up to besides helping me move furniture.  We had a job in Kentucky a few weeks ago that kept us outside for about three days in the sun and heat.  PAINT!!!!  It is amazing what a little paint will do to give a house a facelift!  We had to rent a lift to get to the highest point of the house and we elected Aaron to take care of that part!!!!!  Phil  stood on a ladder and me.....on the ground to do all the windows and trim...you know, the detail part of painting.  It always amazes me how  the three of us find what we are best at doing at each job and get the job done together.
